M3 MacBook Air may finally be launching next year

Fastest MacBooks yet.

When Apple unveiled the new M3 lineup of Apple Silicon chips alongside the new MacBook Pros, people asked about an M3 MacBook Air. Now, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reports new MacBook Airs may be launching in March of next year. The report also mentions new iPads and new AirPods, making 2024 an exciting year for fans of Apple devices.

M3 power at cheaper costs

The new M3 chips from Apple were step ups from the M2 chips, though they obviously didn’t revolutionize MacBooks like the jump from Intel to M1 did. However, they were definitely a worthy upgrade, especially for those who still haven’t made the jump to Apple Silicon MacBooks.

MacBook Air users often choose the Air models over the Pros for a few reasons. Namely, not only are MacBook Airs more affordable, they’re also lighter and have no fans, which makes for a pleasantly quiet experience. Many people also don’t need the power of a MacBook Pro. Mark Gurman reports that there’s not going to be many changes to the MacBook Airs, which suggests we’re going to see more of the same except better.

New iPads and AirPods

Gurman’s report also mentions new iPad Air and iPad Pro models coming out alongside a new pair of AirPods. The iPad Air will apparently launch in two variants, one with a larger screen for those who don’t need an iPad Pro but would like the extra screen real estate. The iPad Pro on the other hand, is expected to be the first iPad that will launch with an OLED display. Apple is also reportedly going to release two new Magic Keyboards and a new Apple Pencil to complement the new iPads.

Lastly, Apple is also going to release new AirPods in 2024. The Airpods have remained a favorite even among people who don’t use Apple products in general. The flagship TWS earphones feature stellar sound not usually found in consumer audio products. The highly anticipated Vision Pro is also launching next year, and is poised to cause a large impact in the VR market.

And, of course, we can’t forget that we’ll almost assuredly see the iPhone 16 lineup as well. All in all, avid fans of Apple have a very busy year ahead of them, and Apple is counting on its massive new line of products to combat the recent slump in sales.
