Intel’s event, the Intel Innovation, just took place in San Jose, California. And a demonstration of the Core Ultra Acer Swift gave us a glimpse into the future of computing powered by AI. Mark Anthony Ramirez of Laptop Mag got to visit the event in person, and reported about a fascinating demo. This demo, showing off the upcoming Acer Swift, gave us a sneak peek of just how powerful Intel’s Core Ultra chipsets are.
Intel Core Ultra chipsets with AI
Intel’s upcoming Core Ultra processors are already boasting pretty impressive improvements. However, the main thing everyone is focusing on is that every Core Ultra processor will be powered by AI.
AI has been taking the world by storm for the last year, but nobody expected AI-powered PCs to become available this soon. But here they are, and everyone is rushing to capitalize on it. Even the new Samsung Galaxy Book 4 series of laptops is expected to be powered by AI. The Intel Core Ultra AI processors are promising not only improved performance and efficient power draw, but also capabilities users would normally have to learn about and practice.
The Acer Swift AI demo
At the demo of the Acer Swift, the audience were shown an amazing feat. An image of a ballerina was used as a framework to create an image of an astronaut floating in Space with a black hole behind them. The change took mere seconds to be realized in the form of a new image.
As Mark notes, however, the real reveal came after. The audience were told that this demo did not use a dedicated GPU, and in fact this was all done with the Intel Core Ultra processor powering the Acer Swift. If AI capabilities in a mobile processor can achieve this level of editing in seconds, the future shown in Sci-Fi movies might be a lot closer than anyone realizes.
